Little known Italian company ATS (Automobili Turismo e Sport) has revived one of their oldest nameplates with the reveal of the new ATS GT. The spiritual successor of the original 1960’s GT, the latest incarnation shows us exactly why Italian automotive designers are considered the best in the world.
With a more than ample 640 ponies being pumped out of the rear/mid mounted V8 engine, this sleek little 950kg rear wheel drive car is able to achieve a top speed over 340km/h, and reach 100kph in a just 2.9 seconds.
Fitted with 6-piston Brembo brake calipers it has 360mm discs up front and 355mm discs on the rear. This driver focused car no ABS, but does however offer optional center locking on front and back wheels riding on 18″ x 9″ wheels and 19″ x 10.5″ wheels respectively.
ATS have thrown their hat back into the the supercar ring – in a big way – and it looks like the new GT will become as much of a collectors item as the original.
